One of the first things that caught our eye on getting our Miss Fabulous on the mail was how lightweight the palette felt in our hands. And as on-the-go gals, we love when a palette fits with our carry-on lifestyle. With a week of using this palette, we are more than ready to share how the Miss Fabulous worked for us.
Color Selection: Geared for a warm tone scheme, most of the eyeshadows are on the warm side, which is obvious with Arizona, Guru, Frankie and Coco. Even the browns and champagnes lean to the warm side, which may not be ideal for those who prefer more cool tones. But we actually love how these shadows warmed our complexion. The only negatives we found with the color selection was the lack of a matte eyeshadow for the brow bone, and we would have loved if Louis would have been matte as it’s the darkest eyeshadow of the bunch that can be used to add more crease definition on the eyes.
Pigmentation: We are actually impressed with the high color payoff on all the eyeshadows considering the price of this palette. On the first swatch, they felt soft and pigmented and that was without a primer. Some of the color does fade after a few hours without a primer, so we definitely recommend applying the eyeshadows with some type of base beforehand to prolong the longevity.
Performance: One of the reasons why we really enjoyed the Miss Fabulous palette is how easy the shadows were to work with. The majority of the eyeshadows have a soft finish with the exception of Guru and Sugar Bear, which have a slight drier texture. The drawback with the shadows being so soft is that they can get a bit powdery as you dip your brush into the eyeshadow. However, as long you lightly tap the eyeshadow brush before you apply the eyeshadow to the lids, you won’t get any fallout. As we have mentioned before, we do recommend using a primer (like with any other eyeshadows) before applying these eyeshadows as it does help them stay on the lid longer. Blending the shadows to create a casual or slightly more done eye look is easy to do with this palette.
Packaging: Again, we love how lightweight and slim this palette is compared to other 12 eyeshadow palettes. This feature along with the strong magnetic closure makes it perfect to take in your carry-on. We love how the glittery rose gold quilt pattern on the outside of this palette adds a bit of elegance and sparkle to the design.
The major drawback with the palette was the included eyeshadow brush in the palette. As much as we tried different methods using the brush, we weren’t thrilled about how the brush applied the shadows. We tend to prefer a thinner, stiffer eyeshadow brush instead.
Favorites: Arizona, Frankie, Latte and Mitten
