One of our favorite things to do is go to vintage shops on the weekends. It’s absolutely incredible what hidden gems we can discover there. We love it so much, we decided to start a brand new style series called Vintage to Chic, where we’ll piece together several outfits around a fashion piece we happen to find at a vintage shop every month or so. This month we focus on a pair of killer boots we found recently, and how we would pair them with fun, spring-inspired clothes, bags and accessories.
Our Inspiration
When we found these mint condition faux leather ankle boots, we knew they had to come home with us. And with a floral print sewn on the side of each boot it’s practically fate. The best part, the price tag on these lovelies was $3 dollars. Talk about a steal!
Outfit #1 Feminine & Flirty Chic
About: We love how this outfit is both feminine and a bit playful with the dark tones, bright pinks, and eclectic patterns and textures. This is why we chose a beautiful navy dress with colorful lace detailing on the shoulders. Paired with a forest green rolled sleeve jacket and peek-a-boo cut out tights to bring it home. Lastly, a few accessories in rich, vibrant hues to set the spring vibe on the right track.
Outfit #2 Dress Up Chic
About: This is all about the powerhouse woman who likes mixing a little edge and color, but looks ready to conquer any obstacle. Summer is all about bright pops of colors and unique patterns. Therefore we chose to combine blouse with magpie prints and a tangerine envelope clutch with edgy gold jewelry, all the while grounding it with sleek to have a spring appeal, while grounding it all with a white jacket and black dress up pants.
Outfit #3 Comfort Meets Trendy Chic
About: Even though we love retiring our dresses and putting on a pair of jeans, we also like to still look trendy. So we wanted an outfit that could dress up or dress down our boots without losing the comfort we love. We opted for boyfriend style jeans because A. They’re loose B. Again their comfortable. Again we paired it with a fun flamingo print short sleeve top and a dark wash linen shirt jacket. Kept the jewelry and bag in one-toned, except the pop of color from the fedora.
Outfit #4: From Beach to Street Chic
This is one of our favorites of the bunch because it’s the perfect spring/summer perfect outfit if we need to transition from a day at the beach to going out for dinner right after. Floral patterns are so spring, we chose a pair of high waisted floral shorts and a colorful teal belt to go along. Although there’s tons of bikinis (full prints and all) to choose from, we couldn’t resist this gorgeous one piece green bathing suit. To make this a versatile outfit, we chose to pair the floral shorts with a lace peplum top and crocheted cardigan in blushing rose color. The cardigan can be easily thrown in the beach bag for when it gets chilly later on. Just added a fun, colorful statement necklace, a gold ring, and teal sunglasses and we’re ready to catch some sun.
