Weddings are a beautiful event where we come together to celebrate two people’s love and commitment for one another. But there is a lot of planning that goes behind making the big day memorable, especially if you’re part of the bridal party and a bridesmaid. There are the bridesmaid duties to worry about such as buying bridesmaid dress, making sure party favors are made, and even making sure our teeth are pearly white and ready for all the photos we will be taking throughout the wedding. Needless to say there is so much to do, which is why we have created a bridesmaid beauty survival kit that features the Crest 3D White Supreme Flexfit Whitestrips to help get us and our luminous smile ready for the big day.
[large_title title=”Inside the Bridesmaid Beauty Survival Kit”]
As a bridesmaid, you should expect to be photographed throughout the whole wedding so making sure you bump up your beauty routine is a must if you’re going to be photo ready. Here are a few must haves you’ll should have in your beauty survival kit.
Skincare | Creme based Cleanser, Witch Hazel Toner, Hydrating Moisturizer & Eye cream (oil free), High SPF sunscreen, Exfoliating Peel Gel, and Face Masks:
- It is important to prep the skin, leading up to the wedding so your skin can have the proper canvas for makeup you’ll be wearing on the big day. First thing first is to keep the skin nice and clean. Getting a creme based cleanser will ensure you don’t dry your skin every time you cleanse, which can cause skin issues that we definitely don’t want. Take a clean pad and moisten it with a Witch Hazel Toner and apply it to the skin to balance the skin’s PH levels. Follow it with a hydrating moisturizer and eye cream. And to avoid any skin discoloration or skin issues, make sure to wear a high SPF sunscreen to prevent any sun damage to the skin. Additional Step: At least once a week, exfoliate the skin with a peel gel as these are less harming on the skin than traditional exfoliators and a nice hydrating face mask to add more life to the skin.
Makeup | Creme or Liquid Foundation (Natural finish), Eyeshadow Primer, Waterproof Mascara, Skin Corrector & Concealer, Waterproof Face Primer, Waterproof Gel Liner, Matte Eyeshadow Palette or Quad, Lip Stain, All day Lipstick, Lip Balm, Travel Set Brushes, A strong Makeup Remover and a Setting Spray.
- Now that you have your skin prepped, it’s time to look at makeup for the big day. Unless the bride has allocated a hefty budget for makeup and professional makeup artist’ services, the bridesmaids will most likely have to take care of their own makeup. So we have a few beauty products we suggest keeping a look out. Photographs can be very unforgiving in showing our skin issues so it’s important to get products that are not only designed for photography but also have great staying power. The first is a good waterproof Face primer. The primer will make our pores look smaller and make our foundation go on smoother. We suggest giving a creme or liquid foundation a go as these tend to look more natural on the skin. A corrector and concealer should be next if you have any under eye circles, redness or acne scars you don’t want showing up on photos. The style of makeup will of course depend on the bride and groom’s wedding scheme (i.e bohemian, glamour, geek chic, etc). But we do suggest that you opt for waterproof makeup as much as possible, this way your makeup stays on when you cry those happy tears and there won’t be any chance a photographer snaps a photo of you with mascara running down your cheeks. But if some makeup starts to melt off, we recommend you carry a good travel size makeup remover that you can easily put in your bag or clutch in case one of those makeup mishaps happens.
A Winning Smile | Crest 3D White Supreme Flexfit Whitestrips
Like we have mentioned already, you will be photographed at every corner so making sure your teeth are at their best is and should be one of the biggest priorities a bridesmaid should have on their checklist. Now we were given the opportunity to test out the Crest 3D White Supreme Flexfit Whitestrips for two weeks to see how we could get our teeth looking just as good as if we went for a $500 whitening treatment. Tip: We suggest starting the kit at least two weeks in advance of the wedding to ensure optimum performance.
About the Kit:
For those of you unfamiliar with Whitestrips, they are basically strips you stick on your upper and lower teeth, which contain the same enamel-safe, teeth-whitening ingredients dentists use during whitening treatments but in a more comfortable at home convenience and without the hefty price tag (The kit cost $64.99 versus approx $500 in-house dentist treatments)
You get 14 treatments that are good for 2 weeks worth of whitening. Each packet comes with two strips, one for the top and the other for the bottom. The flexfit technology in these Crest 3D Whitestrips allows you to stretch, cover and formfit around your teeth for a custom fit.
How To apply: We suggest you take a clean towel and try to dry your teeth first so it makes application even smoother. Ripe open a packet and start with your bottom teeth first. If you look carefully at the whitestrips, you will see a straight line and a jagged line on each of the strips.
Align the straight edge of the strip with your gumline and press gently with your fingers for a few seconds. At this time you can carefully stretch the sides of the strip to adjust and cover as much as your front bottom teeth as you can. Fold the strip over your teeth to the back side. Press gently with your fingers for a few more seconds. Repeat the same steps for your upper front teeth too. Wear the whitestrips for 1 hour. Remove and discard after the hour is up. Tip: Be advised that teeth can become overly sensitive after using the whitestrips. If you find that your teeth are feeling too sensitive, it is advised that you try to stop using them for 2 to 3 days and then resume. If problem continues simply discontinue using the whitestrips.
We started the kit two weeks, just before a friend’s wedding and we can’t be more happy about the results. Our teeth were significantly more pearly white than we have ever seen them. In fact, we even found ourselves smiling more for the camera.
If you have a bridesmaid or just have a wedding coming up, we definitely recommend putting the Crest 3D White Supreme Flexfit Whitestrips on your beauty checklist. You and your smile will thank you for it!

Such a great product when you need something last minute.
I’m obsessed with crest whitening strips! People always ask how much I paid for my teeth to be this white at the dentist… And it’s like Nike! Just go buy a box of strips!
