We recently decided to check out Michelle Phan’s makeup line, EM Cosmetics and give it a try. With the buzz on the life palettes, we just had to grab one, but not before picking up a few more things. Now we have already reviewed the “Love Life” palette, so it’s time to share our thoughts on the eye primer and a lip gallery lipstick in the color “Love Me”.
Eye Primer
The eye primer from EM Cosmetics has a unique lightweight texture not found in most other brands except possibly the Nars eye primer. It’s suppose to help extend lasting power of our eyeshadows and prevent fading and creasing. There is usually a bit of creasing at the end of the day with most primers, so we took this to mind when we tested out the product. Since we had oily lids we tend to tread carefully with any product claiming it will keep our shadows lasting all day.
Performance
Surprisingly, the EM primer worked really well with our oily lids, and kept the shadow looking in place for the most part, despite a bit of fading after 8 hours of use. Initially the wet consistency threw us off a bit, but once we smoothed the product out we had no problem. In fact, the wetness actually helped bring out the eyeshadows more vividly. Plus it help minimize some of the fall out on the darker eyeshadows from the Love Life palette. The best part, a little goes a long way.

Lip Gallery Lipstick
There is a lot of different lip products to choose from the EM Cosmetic line, ranging from sheer to classic to matte formulas. As firm believers of getting the most of our makeup, we opted for the creamy color classic lipstick in “Love Me”. It’s an absolutely gorgeous bright red lipstick, perfect for winter and spring.
Performance
By far our favorite product we’ve tried from the EM line. Not only is the packaging sleek, we love the inspiring words written on the lid. But we’re absolutely loving the texture and formula of this lipstick. It’s creamy, highly pigmented and applies smoothly on the lips. And unlike many creamy lipsticks, this one has a nice sturdiness that makes it easy to apply color on the edges of the lips for a crisp, cleaner application. Red lipstick can often look unflattering on the lips especially since it can highlight any dryness and rough patches. However, the Argan oil and Vitamin E in the formula really moisturizes the lips. Only downside is we wish this lipstick had more lasting power since it’s easily transferable if we drink or eat something. But despite this, we highly recommend this lipstick (and color), especially for those looking to try a product from the line.
