But as trends and style come and go at the speed of light, it is becoming even more difficult to plan accordingly. This can leave us feeling nervous and anxious on whether or not our outfit picks will make the right impression. Let’s face the reality. How many of us have stood in front of our closets and said to ourselves, “I’ve got absolutely nothing to wear”? While it may be a slight (or big) exaggeration, the truth is we want to put our best foot forward. New Year’s Eve Party
This is the perfect time to break the rules. Everything is allowed so we should feel free to play with heavy and bold makeup, wear that dark lipstick we have always wanted to put on but never seemed to get the chance. We have an infinite of possibilities. Gold and silver might be the unofficial emblem for New Year’s Eve, but there are plenty of color combinations we can don on this festive day.
Job interview
There comes a time when we need to find the perfect balance between fashionable, classic and comfortable. Job interviews are one of those instances. The last thing we want or need is to over sweat because our pants are too tight, sweater too itchy and our feet in physical pain because we decided to put on those brand new heels we have yet to break in. Opting for something that makes us feel both confident and comfortable is the way to go. A great outfit could include a pair of sleek black dress pants nipped at the ankle with a flowy, white tunic. To add a more classic look, add a tailored blazer or cardigan. We suggest avoiding big high heels (or, God forbid – sneakers) and opting for simple but sleek pumps that have no more than 4-inch heels. Dressy flats can also be another alternative. We want to exude confidence at any interview.
First Date
So we have a big date coming up, and those new 6-inch stilettos we just bought are calling our name. Before we get lured by them, let’s take a deep breath and just say ‘no’ those sirens in our closet. We may or may not know where our date will take us. They may want to take us for a romantic walk along the beach or try that new hip restaurant in town that we have to make a reservation a month ahead. Whatever the case, our outfits need to not just show our personality, but also be versatile.
Spring/Summer
Spring and summer will be here before we know it, so it’s never a bad idea to plan future outfits, especially if we plan to go to any music festivals like Coachella or just chill at the beach. Bright, neon colors are always a great way to strip the muted colors of fall and winter. We have so many choices such as graphic tees, loose tunics, skirts and shorts with fun patterns—summer heat approved. Swimsuits are a must if we plan to spend some time at the beach. And there are so many fashionable bikinis and one-piece swimsuits to choose from. The best part is how easy it is to dress up and dress down summer wear just by adding or eliminating a piece or two.
Whatever the occasion may be, the key is to find that perfect balance between ‘looking good’ and ‘feeling good while wearing it’.
