Inside the December POPSUGAR Must Have Box & Review

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]t might be a brand new year, but we’re still feeling the holiday cheer from last month. And our recent POPSUGAR Must Have Box was a major reason behind it. Paying homage to the holiday season, the December Must Have Box was all about adding a festive touch to our home and getting us ready for the holiday social scene. Like usual, we will be sharing what’s inside our box along with our thoughts on each product.

We have said countless times and we will say it again. Popsugar’s Must Have Boxes are by far one of our favorite monthly subscription services. As gals who love variety, the Must Have boxes offer a wonderful selection of beauty, fashion, home and food products that we can sample from. And the best part, they’re full-size, so no dreaded sample packets to be on the lookout for.

One of our favorites from the bunch was the stunning porcelain dish set from Odeme, which featured a catchall and a ring dish. We love the modern meets vintage flair of this set, and is perfect for adding a bit of romance to our vanity. Jewelry is one of our favorite accessories to wear so we definitely needed a beautiful way to store our pieces, especially during this past holiday season.

The set, according to POPSUGAR can also be used to entertain. And so we used the ring dish as serving bowl for our stuffed olives during a NYE party we hosted. Talk about versatility.

The second favorite item we got in our box was the exclusive POPSUGAR- exclusive Snowfall pendant from BaubleBar. This unique statement piece came in handy when we wanted to spice up a simple outfit during the holidays. The sleek chain is the perfect fold for the pretty snowfall pendant.

You can never have enough Bobby pins and so we were really excited to find a trio of beautiful decorative Bobby pins from Mane Message inside our box. As gals with short hair, we have been loving using hair accessories to jazz up our hair cut and rock the short style proudly. In fact, we used two of the pins to add a bit of pizzazz to our hair New Year’s Eve. The best part is that the colors of the Bobby pin (gold, silver and light pink) are fairly neutral, so they will work for any hairstyle throughout the year.

Our hair can get quite lackluster during the winter so we love using a shine serum to help combat the dullness. The DESSANGE Professional Hair Luxury Color Restore Color Protecting Top Coat Serum couldn’t have come at a better time. Unlike many shine serums on the market, this one is fast absorbing, and leaves you without that thick, sticky feeling you can get when you apply a shine serum to your hair. The only con about this product is the smell. The heavy scent reminds us of cough medicine for some reason. We would have preferred a more neutral scent instead. But overall, we’re really enjoying the sleekness our hair has been having after using this product.

One of the products we love receiving in our POPSUGAR boxes is the food. This time around it was all about baking with this handy mason jar cookie mix from Sisters’ Gourmet. We have tried a few of the mason jar cookie mixes before and have fallen in love with each one of them. If you love baking, but don’t know how to go about making your own chocolate chip cookies than this cookie mix is for you. All you need is to add eggs and butter to the premade cookie mix and you’re sure to have ooey gooey cookies in no time. These are also great gifts to give friends and family that love to bake.

Last by certainly not least is the Winky Lux Lip Pill lipstick in Bunny. The first thing we noticed was the adorable packaging. Like its name, the exterior is shaped as a pill. Once we opened the lipstick up, we couldn’t help but fall in love with the soft cranberry shade. Expecting the lipstick to be drying given its matte formula, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that this lipstick actually keeps the lips hydrated. So no chapped lips for us! And the best part is that these lipsticks are cruelty-free and paraben free.
