This means we have been hard at work trying out new skincare products this month to lock in the perfect skincare routine. Fortunately, we were given the chance to try out the Valentia Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer to see if we could get our dry, dull skin ready for the fall season. Now, after using it for a few weeks, we are now more than ready to review this heavy duty moisturizer and share whether this product will be a Beauty grail or a Beauty Fail.

Moisturizers are a must have in any skincare routine, and having a great one is just as important. But finding that amazing can’t-live-without-you moisturizer can be hard for any skin type. So as dry skin gals that we are, we make it our mission to try out new and upcoming products that will offer us the hydration we want, and renew the skin of the nutrients we need. So we were more than thrilled to put the Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer from Valentia to test.

First impressions:
One of the things that always stands out to us about any Valentia product is their great packaging, starting from their chic white and silver rimmed box to the glass bottles with pumps. They give out an almost Parisian vibe to them. Speaking of pumps, we just love how this brightening moisturizer comes with a convenient pump to keep everything mess-free and hygienic. We wanted to see what the product looked like so we pumped a bit of moisturizer on the back of our hand. We immediately noticed that the product had a white, lightweight consistency that wasn’t runny or overly thick either. It also had a light fresh scent that didn’t overpower. Another thing we noticed was how fast absorbing the product was without leaving a heavy feeling to the skin.

Application:

The instructions say to apply the moisturizer after cleansing, toning and serum has been done before apply the product all over the face, neck and decollete. We applied one full pump on the face and neck, opting to skip the decollete. It was more than enough to cover the entire face and neck area. Due to the fast absorption, you won’t really feel that ultra hydration you may expect with a thicker moisturizer (especially at night). There are no specific instructions on how to best apply the moisturizer but we gently patted and massaged the product into the skin, and liked both methods to apply.

Performance:

Maybe because we were expecting an immediate boost of hydration, we were mildly disappointed with the product when we first applied it to our face and neck. But as a few moments went by, we started to notice a suppleness to the skin as we kept wearing the moisturizer that night. We found ourselves touching our skin, really enjoying the soft texture. And the softness didn’t go away the next morning. In fact, we were impressed with the renewed appearance our skin had just after one use.

We have been using this brightening moisturizer for weeks now and just loving the way our skin has reacted to the natural ingredients, and started to help our skin repair after the harsh heats we had all summer in Southern California. As far dark spots go, we have noticed some improvement on the appearance of some of hyperpigmentation and acne scarring around our cheekbones and forehead.

Overall:

Every Valentia product we have tested so far has impressed us, and their Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer is no exception. With our dry, patchy skin being a thing of the past, this lightweight, hydrating moisturizer is soon becoming one of our holy grail products to use in the Fall. We definitely recommend our skincare gals to give this product a try if they’re needing that extra boost to their skincare routine.
