When talking about eyeshadows, Vincent and Hernandez agreed that matte eyeshadows are a must in anyone’s kit, and then go for those other finishes.

“You got to have the fundamentals,” Vincent stresses.

“It all comes down the brush and how we apply the eyeshadows,” says Hernandez.

Tip Alert! They shared a great tip on how to salvage dry gel liners. Simply add in some MAKEUP FOREVER Aqua Seal in the dry gel liner, mix really well and voila it’s back to life!

Lips

For Matte Lips

Lips can be very much on preference and what we’re looking to achieve. This is why Vincent recommends asking ourselves what do we want the end result to be. If we’re looking to create those gorgeous matte lips, we have to ensure that we’re using products like a lip balm that isn’t counteracting the finish.

“If you really want to bring across that beautiful matte finish you cannot go in the beginning of prep and put a high shine balm on it because you’ll never get back to that matte finish,” Vincent says.

One of favorite beauty tools, brushes can definitely help bump up the level of performance. It was great to see these two fabulous celebrity makeup artists use brushes from various brands, ranging from high end to budget friendly. For them it’s about what these brushes allow them to do.

“The job of the makeup artist is to design, apply and maintain a makeup,” Vincent says. “You need to make sure you have those tools.”
