When we heard Leandra Medine and Glossybox were teaming up to curate a box, we we’re absolutely thrilled. The Man Repeller box showcases some of Medine’s beauty essentials.

What We Think
This box was by far one of our favorites from Glossybox. In a sea of monthly beauty boxes, it’s really hard for a company to set themselves apart. Glossybox has to be one of the exceptions. There is a tremendous amount of care in presentation, but more importantly, in the particular items they pick. While some of the pickings might not be exactly “us”, they never leave us unsatisfied–both financially and emotionally.
There is always a feeling of “luxury” that Glossybox exudes, whether it’s the higher end skincare or the pink boxes filled with confetti string tissue paper. However, what distinguished The Man Repeller box from previous boxes was simply the cohesiveness of each product. From nails to hair to fragrance. This are really an all-rounder box.
Some of our favorites include the Tarte 12-hour lipstick in Fierce. It’s incredibly smooth and surprisingly really hydrating considering it’s a long-lasting lipstick. For those who are not big “red lip” wearers, this lipstick can be put on as a stain or easily build up to a fiery red. We do recommend putting on a lip balm underneath.
The next favorite is the OPI liquid sand. As nail polish addicts, we love trying out new formulations. Can’t Let Go is quickly becoming one of our favorite glitter polishes. It’s a stunning purplish-blue polish with multi glitter (silver). Glitter can be really hard to apply, especially since it’s usually too thick and sheer. But the glitter in this polish applies well, even with just one coat. Now two coats, it’s absolutely gorgeous! It dries matte, but a topcoat can be applied to give it that glossy finish.
But one of the products we were most excited about trying was the Le Metier De Beaute Replenishing Daily Soultion. Having heard about this high end beauty cream from various sources, we were happy to finally test it out. Unlike the previous favorites, this one was in one of those infamous sample packets. But frankly, we don’t mind so much nor did we expect there to be a full size on this one, especially since the full size retails for $225. There’s actually quite a lot product in the sample packet, giving that most packets have very little in them. So there’s definitely enough product to get a feel for this moisture-rich cream.
Our least excited/favorite of the bunch was the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme mascara. It’s a nice travel-friendly size, but it doesn’t help separate the lashes. It does add volume, and some lengthening to the lashes, so some will like this feature.
Overall
The Man Repeller was definitely a success in our book. There’s a wide range of products in this month’s box to really play around. The price on this box ($21) might be steep for some, but we think the special edition box was definitely worth the price. Especially, if we look at the size of the product.
