Alright we’re brave enough to admit we sometimes binge on reality TV shows. There is something almost appealing about getting the chance to take a peek inside the lives of others, and see the good and the bad. And let’s face it, it’s kind of nice to forget the stress in our lives and watch other people do some rather outrageous things. We recently got the chance to sit down and watch Bravo’s new reality TV show, Southern Charm. In the same vein as other Bravo reality shows, Southern Charm follows the lives of six friends from Charleston, South Carolina. Even though there’s plenty of that southern hospitality, don’t let it fool you. The stars of the show definitely bring their bag of drama to the South.
On Monday’s episode, the crew head out on the road for a weekend retreat in an effort to escape some of the boiling tension (and drama) in the city.
After Craig’s accusations last week, Kathryn tries to iron out some ruffles with T-Rav. She denies the accusations (aka sleeping with other cast members) , and T-Rav seems to accept this. But frankly, as smitten as T-Rav is, we didn’t really expect him to press her much.
Only further proven, when Kathryn decides to introduce him to her family. If this doesn’t prove T-Rav’s affection, then we don’t know what will. Surprisingly, the Dennisses seem to really welcome T-Rrav, even when Kathryn’s dad pulls him aside to have a man-to-man talk. Now here is where we thought Mr. Dennis was going to go commando, only to be slightly disappointed when the two engage into jovial banter.
Time for the weekend retreat to begin as Whitney, Shep and T-Rav load up their stuff and head for the farm. Craig and JD join them later on. The guys decide to have a quiet night at Shep’s hunting cabin (and boy is it pretty nifty) so they can go hunting at the crack of dawn–albeit T-Rav who isn’t allowed to operate any firearms.
The guys return to the cabin unsuccessful in their hunting (thank goodness!) and wait for the ladies to join them. In hindsight, this probably wasn’t the best idea given the Kathryn drama of late. But this wouldn’t be reality TV, if there wasn’t tension in the air.
Even as Kathryn and T-Rav become more smitten with each by the hour, they’re never too far from drama. This time it comes from Whitney who decides to drop a bomb. He confesses that he hooked up with Kathryn in a “moment of weakness”. Yikes! Why do we feel like things are going to reach an exploding point of no return.
Guess we are going to have to watch next week’s season finale to find out T-Rav’s reaction, and what kind of impact Whitney’s confession has on the rest of the gang.
