On this week’s episode of Hart of Dixie, Wade is turning up the heat. We see him painting Zoe’s wall shirtless. Need we say more! In his usual fashion, Wade pokes a little fun at Zoe by telling her she’s trying to lure him into bed. Meanwhile, Zoe complains about him coming to her room half dressed. But while she might not fully appreciate the eye candy, we’re not complaining.
A reporter from Zoe’s med school has arrived to follow her around. However, Lavon laughs when he reads the magazine writes that Zoe is retired in Bluebell, Alabama.So Zoe sets off to show the alumni she is making a difference in Bluebell.
When George goes to Zoe’s home, Brick opens the door. Brick is not happy to see him, especially after breaking Lemon’s heart. But George wants to reimburse him. George tells Zoe he is going on a date with a woman not from Bluebell.
At the diner, Zoe tries to motivate everyone to live a healthier lifestyle. Out of the blue enters Martin Hines, the John Hopkin Alumni whose come to follower her around. Zoe is thrown out of the loops since she wasn’t expecting him to show up early. She takes Martin to her office, and tries to impress him. Tom runs in complaining about an itch. Zoe tries to make it seem more important than it is, but Martin is not impressed.
Lemon tells AnnaBeth that George is going on a date. She says it means he has move on. But if all Bluebell sees that, she will be the loser in the breakup. Lemon tells her they should have a girl’s night out.
In the campaign spirit, Ruby hands out giving bell-shaped bells in order to get people to vote for change. Lavon approaches her, he is really upset. He thinks she’s doing all this to irritate him. He tells her she’s running for the wrong reason and should drop out. But Ruby defends herself by saying she has a vision for the town.
Back at the office, Zoe is treating Tom’s rash when she notices some swelling on his eyes.
Lemon and AnnaBeth go shopping for dresses, when they see a woman wearing a red sleeveless dress. Turns out she’s George’s date. Lemon decides that her and AnnaBeth should find a dress just like that.
Preoccupied with Tom’s symptoms, Zoe heads over to Brick to talk about what she saw. Brick thinks it might be leprosy. Zoe let’s Tom know he might have symptoms of leprosy, and asks him where he’s been. He mentions he has been at Wade’s dad home. She tells him he need to be quarantine. She then calls Martin Hines to tell him not to leave town because she has a story for him now. Zoe tells Wade they have to go to see Earl (Wade’s dad) to see if he could have leprosy.
George is in the middle of his date, when Brick happens to be in the same place. Brick completely crashes George’s date.
At Earl’s home, Zoe tells him he has leprosy, but he think she’s talking nonsense. But Wade mentions that he seems warm. Apparently, Earl has been chasing Randy, an armadillo. Zoe tells Wade they have to catch the armadillo. Earl pokes a little fun at Wade about he and Zoe. He starts imatating him, saying “blah blah blah Zoe..blah blah blah Zoe”. Definitely the best part of this episode is when Wade tells his dad he’s has an armadillo to catch. Only to have Earl say, “is that what they are calling it these days”.
Lemon decides to stop Ruby from flirting with the guy she thinks is cute. Meanwhile, her friends are watching her attempt to compete with Ruby. Elsewhere, Brick continues to ruin George’s date, by mentioning that George had a fiance for 15 years. The two men start fighting at the restaurant and get thrown out.
With the labs results back, Zoe tells Tom the news that he doesn’t have leprosy. In turn, she loses Martin’s interest in writing a story about her important job in Bluebell. Wade tells her she is not being honest with what makes her happy. We agree! Zoe definitely needs to see what she wants. He also tells her it was her choice to move to Bluebell, and to sleep with him. With parting wisdom, Wade says, “if you want to be happy change your picture or change your life”.
Lemon enjoys her date with Walt, but realizes she isn’t quite ready to date. Meanwhile, Brick and George continue arguing until Lavon stops them. Brick tells Lavon he will resent George for as long as he lives. But Lavon tells him the town is too small for that. He makes them talk to each other. George apologizes for breaking Lemon’s heart. He considers him like a father. Brick tells him he too considers him as a son, which is why it hurts so much what George did.
Zoe talks to Tom about his anxiety. He is afraid of having sex with Wanda for the first time. But Zoe tells him to be honest with himself and his life, and about how he wants to live it. We can’t help but think Zoe should take her own advice too. As Zoe walks home, she runs into George, where he tells her about his first date. He tells her that we need to put ourselves first sometimes. Zoe agrees.
While having girl talk with Lemon, AnnaBeth tells her she can be good when she puts her mind to something. She decides to go to Lavon and see if she can run his campaign. He tells her he’ll think about it.
With a video game in her hand, Zoe goes to visit Wade. We’re guessing Zoe is one step closer to finding what she wants.
