It is officially fall so we cannot wait to jump right back into the world of beauty. And what better way to do so then through some of our favorite monthly beauty subscription services. This way we can sample new products (maybe even find future favorites) without feeling out of the loop or spending a small fortune at department stores. Just a few days ago, we received our September Ipsy bag in the mail, and immediately dived in. Take a look inside our Ipsy bag for the month, as well our mini review of all the products.

This month we were really happy with the products that came in our Ipsy bag. While the products fit more into the fall-theme category in our opinion, they do work as a whole to get us exploring and trying out new things to fit with our own unique style for the season.
Our spotlight product goes to Nourish Organic‘s Moisturizing Cream Face Cleanser. As dry-skin gals, we always struggle to find facial cleansers that won’t just clean our face but also not leave the skin dehydrated. This face cleanser wowed us just in the first use. It is fragrance-free so there is no pesky alcohol to try up the skin. It contains aloe vera, cucumber and watercress–all ingredients to cleanse, hydrate and protect the skin. This also works really well with eczema skin too. The best part is a little goes a long way. The possible drawback is the smell. Because this organic and fragrance-free, the product smells more earthy then some might prefer. We have no issues with the scent as it is not as noticeable once we have washed off. Overall we love this stuff and can’t wait to keep trying it out.
We can never have too many makeup brushes so the Crown Brush dual-ended brush was right up our alley. We own several crown brush sets so we know the quality is great. We especially liked the versatility of this brush as it saves time and energy having to pick up two separate eye brushes to do our eye makeup.
Next up is the Mitchell and Peach Luxury Hand Cream. We have tried several products from this brand, and have really enjoyed them in the past. This hand cream is no exception. It quickly absorbs in the skin and doesn’t leave a greasy finish. The light lavender/rose fragrance is especially nice. This is definitely going in our handbag this season.
Getting the Cailyn Tinted Lip gloss in Love Affair was a perfect addition. With dark red hues a major color trend for fall, we can definitely see ourselves using this gloss. We love that its not only a rich gloss, but also a lip stain. This way we can apply over our favorite lipstick or wear it alone for a nice, light red tint to the lips. Best part is there is no annoying sticky feel to this lip gloss so we can wear it comfortably. Only con we saw was the weak stopper in the package as it doesn’t help avoid getting too much product.
Lastly, the Pacifica Water-proof Eye Pencil. Now when a product states that it’s water-proof or even smudge-proof, we like to take up the challenge to prove (or disprove) its claim. Unfortunately, the eye pencil was our least favorite of the bunch. While the texture is smooth, it is almost too creamy. This is perfect for lining the waterline or creating a smudge liner to the top line, but for more precision…this is not the pencil for us. When it came to seeing if this “water-proof” liner was in fact water-proof, it failed to last on our oily lids after an hour tops.
Overall, we really enjoyed all the products Ipsy curated this month–albeit the eyeliner. Not only we we given a nice sized products but we also got a little bit of everything from skincare to makeup and tools. Plus we love the studded gunmetal bag all the products came in.
Safe to say we are ready for Fall!
