This month’s Glossybox hit home for us as we absolutely loved all the products. The editors of Harper’s Bazaar and Glossybox did a fantastic job curating products that were not only cult-favorites but truly offer the essentials to create a fabulous look.
As nail polish addicts, we can never resist adding another polish to our collection. The Essie polish in Madison Ave-Hue is a great barbie pink shade with slight silver glitter reflects. The formula is creamy and applies smoothly on the nails. However, you need at least two coats to get the color opaque. What’s interesting about this polish is that the glitter shows up subtle on the nails, which is perfect for those who want a little twist to the typical glossy nails but do not want to commit to full glitter nails.
You can almost always find a tube of Benefit‘s They’re Real mascara in our makeup bag. It has been a trusted favorite of ours for years. The formula works so incredibly well with our oily lids. And we love the boost of drama to our lashes. The travel-size tube is ideal for us to just throw it in our makeup bag and apply it on the go.
Next is the Bvlgari Eau Parfumee Au The Blanc hair conditioner. We have only heard of hair perfume products, but have never tried them first hand. We will admit that when we used this for the first time, we felt like we were in one of those Herbal Essence commercials as flowers floated through the air. Putting the commercial joke aside, the concept is actually really interesting. We can actually see ourselves opting for this light, fresh scented conditioner for those days when we want to give our body perfume a break.
Skincare is something we have come to expect in our Glossybox. While this might not be everyone’s cup of tea, we are strong advocates of establishing an equally strong skincare from the get go. We have tried Vichy in previous Glossybox boxes in the past, and we have really liked them. They seem to work really well with our dry skin, keeping it well hydrated. The best part is how light this moisturizer feels on the skin (no greasy finish here).
Last is one of our favorite products we received this month is one of the lip tars from OCC. We actually were given the chance to play around with Black Dahlia and Authentic before getting our box in the mail. We immediately fell in love with these two very different colors.
Black Dahlia is a rich, dark wine red color. A perfect shade for Fall. Authentic also follows the orange lip trends, but adds a little something different with its metallic finish. Each lip tar comes with a mini lip brush for easy application. What we love about OCC is how they keep taking us out of our comfort box and shaping the way we use color. At first glance, Black Dahlia looked to dark for our skin tone. But wanting to give it a chance beforehand, we applied a little at a time until we got that rich wine lip we have seen this season. Not only is it incredibly glossy and pigmented, it also wears on the lips beautifully. This is definitely a lip product we will be using all season long. We can’t forget Authentic, which actually did come in our box this month. Orange lipsticks can be tricky to pull off, but surprisingly Authentic is actually a really wearable color. It can actually be toned down if you’re not into bold orange lips.
Overall, we can’t be more happy with the products in our box. And while we have been big fans of boxes from previous months, this special edition box definitely takes the award. What a great way to start Fall.
