As beauty aficionados there is nothing more exciting than a new product or better yet, a new collection on the rise. And when it’s from some of our favorite coveted brands, our hearts flutter enthusiastically. Just recently, cult favorite Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics launched their new fall collection “Unknown Pleasures“. The eclectic collection pushes the boundaries between light and darkness with 6 all-new lip tars shades, 6 limited Nail lacquers, and 2 new cosmetic color pencils.
We had the chance to join OCC in celebrating ” Unknown Pleasures” at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, where we were treated to an up close look at the newest collection, scrumptious sweets ( all Vegan) and a lively poolside mixer.
The gorgeous actress and musician Devin Green returns again as the face of “Unknown Pleasures”, showcasing the new line’s light and dark themes, and 80s goth influences. This is noticeable in the range of shades OCC has brought out for Fall. Unlike the previous collections, the color scheme here leans on darker hues for the bold look so synonymous of the brand.
Here you can see the collection in all its glory. First in the line were the 6 limited Nail Lacquers: [From left to Right| TechnoPagan, Pagan, Distortion, Poison, Dangerous and Covet. Followed by the 6 all new Lip Tars: [From left to Right]: TechnoPagan, Pagan, Vain, ManHunter, Lament and Covet. Lastly, the two new color pencils: Sebastian and Lydia. Although not part of the collection per say, we had to mention the Creme Colour Concentrates, as we got to play around with the three colors on display and were immediately intrigued with product’s versatility. We were told these could be used on the eyes, lips and cheeks.
By far our favorite color of the nail polishes was TechnoPagan. Depending on the angle, it can appear purple with hints of blue or a full on blue metallic. Some of the other notable colors were Covet (buff neutral), Dangerous (grey) and Poison (shimmery Ivy Green). We were hoping there’d be a Manhunter polish to go along with the Manhunter lip tar, but maybe for the near future?
We have been longtime fans of OCC, and love how they are continuously pushing the envelope in the beauty industry–taking many of us beauty lovers out of our comfort zone and exploring a wider color spectrum.
