And nothing gets us more into the summer vibe than a good bowl of ice cream. But while we love our delicious dairy treat, we don’t care for all those calories, which is why we were thrilled to try Arctic Zero’s new Light Ice cream pints. We have already sampled ( and fell in love ) the Arctic Zero lactose free frozen desserts, so we couldn’t wait to grab a spoon and taste test. Keep reading to see an inside review of all seven light ice cream flavors, and see whether they’re Modern Chic approved.
Inside the New Light Ice Cream Flavors
Known for their lactose free, low calories and low fat ice cream pints and dipped bars,
Arctic Zero’s Fit Frozen Desserts offer healthier alternatives to satisfy any sweet tooth craving. Like all the Arctic Zero frozen desserts, the new flavors are made with hormone-free whey protein. They are made with real milk, cream and sweetened with cane sugar. And are well under 400 calories per pint.
The seven light ice cream flavors include Cookies & Cream, Chocolate Chunk, Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cookies, Mint & Chocolate Cookies, Vanilla Bean, Cookie & Brownie Dough and Toffee Crunch.

Our Review
While we have loved all the Arctic Zero frozen desserts so far, we were not quite sure whether we would get that amazing immediate satisfaction with their light ice cream as we normally do with regular ice cream. Now we are all for healthier options, but we’re the first to admit that “light” ice cream doesn’t sound as exciting. Nevertheless, we wanted to sample each flavor and see whether they were indeed a healthy Modern Chic approved treat.
On opening our package from Arctic Zero, our mouths immediately started to salivate just looking at all seven flavors.
Tip: Now we do recommend leaving the pint to sit for a few minutes for that creamy texture.
Let’s start with Chocolate Chunk
`1. Chocolate Chunk: It contains creamy chocolate with dark chocolate chunks
We’re not the most avid chocolate ice cream lover, but we were impressed with how rich and creamy this flavor tastes at the first spoonful.The dark chocolate chunks surprisingly do not overpower the taste buds, and leave a lightness you wouldn’t expect from such a decadent treat. Definitely a must for those chocolate lovers.
2. Cookies & Cream: A blend of creamy vanilla flavor with chocolate sandwich cookies
Anyone who has had cookies & cream ice cream knows that what makes the ice cream is a great ratio of cookies and cream. And Arctic Zero nails it. Every spoonful is jam-packed with cookies without losing the creamy vanilla flavor. However, we did notice that the best way to get that smooth texture we love is to leave the pint outside for 4 to 5 minutes so it starts to get creamy.
3. Vanilla Bean: creamy vanilla with real vanilla beans
Compared to the other flavors, Vanilla Bean was our least favorite solely because we prefer a little something out of the norm when it comes to ice cream. But for those looking for a classic vanilla ice cream with rich flavor of vanilla beans, you’re going to enjoy this light version.
4. Toffee Crunch: a decadent mesh of creamy vanilla flavor with toffee chunks and caramel swirls
Now Toffee Crunch is hands down one of favorites of the bunch. It’s so good, we had to double check the label to see that it was in fact low in calories. Again Arctic Zero did a wonderful job at balancing the toffee chunks and caramel swirls in the vanilla so you don’t feel like you’re not getting flavor at each spoonful. Toffee Crunch was definitely one of those flavors that makes you never want to go back to regular ice cream or at the very least not feel like you’re settling for a healthier option.
5. Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cookies: creamy peanut butter with chocolate cookies and rich peanut butter swirls
If you love a good mix of peanut butter and chocolate flavor in your ice cream than you’re going to enjoy this flavor. There is no skimping of peanut butter swirls or chocolate cookie bites, which we often face with other brands. And there is no blandness or generic flavor here. It literally taste like you’re biting into a peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie. So good!
6. Cookie & Brownie Dough: creamy vanilla with a blend of cookie dough and brownie dough.
Now try as we could, we couldn’t get into Cookie & Brownie dough. Again, this boils down to personal preference since we’re not really into cookie dough ice cream in general. But a few of our taste testers (aka family members) couldn’t get enough of this flavor.
Lastly, but certainly not least is Mint & Chocolate Cookies.
7. Mint & Chocolate Cookies: a refreshing blend of creamy mint flavor with chocolate cookies and dark chocolate chunks.
This is by far our favorite flavor ice cream in any brand of ice cream so we were initially worried that the light formula would mean bland flavor. But boy were we wrong! There was that rich mint flavor we love in Mint Chocolate Chip, but also well balanced with the chocolate cookie bites swirled in. So not too little and not too much. Just the way we like it. We will definitely stocking up on this flavor ASAP.
Overall
After a few weeks of sampling these seven new flavors from Arctic Zero, we’re definitely impressed with how delicious and satisfying these light ice cream pints taste. We were expecting to compromise on taste, but actually found ourselves thoroughly enjoying these delicious and healthier options.
Is it Modern Chic approved?

You’re so right! Nothing sounds as good as taking a cold ice ream on a hot summer day. I love Ice cream and chocolate flavor is my favorite. Arctic Zero have awesome treats for dessert and I’d love the Chocolate Chunks.
I would love to give these a try! I’m all about ice cream, especially during the summer. I’ll have to see if I find these in the grocery store. I’d want the mint and chocolate cookies.

Yeah, mint cookie is almost always the best flavor. How do these compare to something like the “slow-churn” ice creams? And how do they compare sugar-wise to other ice creams? These days I’m not so much worried about fat and calories, but I’m trying to eat less sugar.
I’m so happy I am not big on ice cream, because I would eat it all day long otherwise. These however sound yummy and guilt-free. Might just have to try some.

Yum Yum Yum. I love ice cream. I could eat it every day. From here I would like to try Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cookies and Mint & Chocolate Cookies, but all of them sound good.
