With the holiday season right around the corner, the year is slowly coming to a close. Yet there are still so many things we have yet to accomplish. But before we wish 2012 goodbye, let’s end it on a high note. We can do so by looking good and feeling our best. And why not now? It’s at this moment that we can really set a positive course for ourselves. Plus when the holidays start, we are going to be knee deep in tinsle and wrapping paper. Here are some great suggestions we can add to our to-do list.
Galactica Glam
Ready to step outside our box? Great. Why not try space age metallic glamour. Gorgeous glimmery skirts and shimmering separates with high tech shine are a must this fall. Also, futuristic collar necklaces embellished with luxe gold trim can add a decorative touch to any neckline. By pairing metallics with stark neutrals can really keep our look trendy without going over the top. Gold and silver pieces can create warmness and elegance, while putting an unexpected spin on a season ready look. The perfect way to look like a million bucks.
Boost Your C
Fortifying our immune system is always a good idea. For those of us looking for a simple healthy treat to indulge in, we suggest a Tropical Treat– it fits the bill perfectly. This tangy drink is a splendid source of vitamin C and low in calories. So try this simple recipe:
- 1 10oz package frozen unsweetened strawberries
- 1 30oz can crushed pineapple with juice
- 3 cups orange juice
- 2 quarts chilled carbonated water
- 8 fresh strawberries
- 2 ice cube trays
*Servings: 8
Directions: Combine the frozen strawberries, pineapple with juice and orange juice. Blend until smooth and frothy. Pour the mixture into ice cube trays and freeze. For each serving put three strawberry cubes into a tall glass and fill with half cup each of carbonated water. Wait until the mixture becomes slushy. Garnish with a strawberry. Voila!
Wellness
Our health is important. Before the year ends, let’s make sure to get the recommended health screenings. The two most important health tests for women are the mammogram and Pap test. These tests can help check for problems early on. So learn how to perform a breast self-exam is important. Blood pressure tests are also important too. Let’s not forget to check out free health fairs so we have access to knowledgable professionals who can help answer our questions. Remember, be proactive. And take good care!
