As nail connoisseurs we’re always on the hunt for new polishes, especially if they come wrapped in a lovely budget-friendly package. The E.L.F Essential 14-Piece Nail Cube certainly fits the bill. With two limited edition sets to choose from, we picked the Brights. The set features 14 nail polishes in various colors from brights, neutrals, to glitter top coats.

Performance
Given the price of this cube, we are very pleased with how well these polishes perform. Several of the polishes are nicely opaque even with just the first coat, while others could easily achieve the desired look at the second or third coat. These are also perfect for creating great nail art. The glitter top coats are by far one of our favorites. Not designed to stand alone, these top coats are ideal if we’re looking to add a little pizzaz to our nails. For those fans of Deborah Lippman’s ‘Happy Birthday’ polish, we definitely suggest ‘Chic Confetti’ in the set. It’s a nice, affordable dupe for the Lippman one.
In terms of drying time, these polishes dry on average between 5 min-10mins, depending on how many coats we use. Initially we assumed the size of the brush would make application a bit tricky. However, there was no issues of streakiness if we waited a minute before applying a second or third coat. We really loved how creamy the formula was when we painted our nails.
Overall
For those new to the world of nail polishes or just nail enthusiast looking to add to their collection, this set is perfect. It has just the right range of colors (and textures) to play with, without feeling overwhelmed, or worse, underwhelmed.
