With the holidays just around the corner, we know many of you are gearing up for the upcoming parties and celebrations. Some might even have a dress (tags and all) in their closet and the killer heels to go with it. But what about those “accidental” mishaps that seem to always occur when we least expect or want them like a run in our tights or the dreaded raccoon eyes. But what if we could fix or even prevent these mishaps from happening? The good news: we can! We’ve compiled a list of emergency must-haves every gal should have in their purse for the holidays.
The Essential Beauty & Haircare
In a perfect world, our makeup would be flawless the whole night or at the least carry an arsenal of makeup with us. Unfortunately, that isn’t always the case. So to avoid those makeup nightmares and keeping things light, we suggest having these items in your makeup bag for the night:
Makeup: Blotting Paper, Makeup wipes, Mascara and Lipstick
Hair: Hairspray, Bobby pins or Goody Spin pins, a pop out brush and mirror.
Trusty Tide Pen
We won’t say how many times we’ve spilled something on our shirts or dresses. Luckily, the Tide pen has saved one to many embarrassing moments. This instant stain remover pen is so easy to use. All we have to do is apply a bit of this on the spot and voila! We’re all good to go.
On The Go Floss & Toothbrush
Speaking of embarrassing moments. How many of us have found out that we’ve been walking around with food in our teeth the whole night. Or worse had someone else point it out? Never again! With these handy Colgate wisp mini brushes and Glide on the go floss packets, we can head to the bathroom and discreetly clean our teeth. Now we’re ready to look fabulous in those snapshots.
Heel Cushions
How many of us have worn a stellar pair of heels only for them to leave us with blisters. We can avoid the ouches by carrying heel cushions in our purses or clutch. Not only will they prevent our feet from sliding out of or around, they also keep our heels well protected. Make sure to carry a few extras for your gal pals too.
Foldable Flats
We might love to rock our pumps, but that doesn’t mean we can’t give our feet a little relief. We recommend carrying a pair of foldable flats with us so we can change out of the heels and into something more comfortable. Why spent the evening with painful toes when we can be dancing the night away.
Clear Nail Polish
Don’t over look clear nail polish, it can be a very handy item to have with us. Most of us know how to stop a run in our tights from getting worse simply by dabbing a bit of polish on each end. We can also add a bit of this stuff on a loose button or put a little shine on a bracelet or pair of earrings that has lost its luster. But let’s say we’re at a crowded party and have a red plastic cup on hand just like everyone else. How can we avoid sipping on someone else’s cup? Simple. Just writing our name with a pen or sharpie and applying a coat of clear polish. Now we have a name label that doesn’t smear. No more awkward, “is this my cup or this one my cup?” moments. Thank Goodness!
Emergency Money
Sure most places take credit or debit cards but we definitely recommend carrying some extra cash in case we lose our wallet or need to pay for a cab.
The Safety Network
What is the safety network? It’s these three important numbers we should have on speed dial: 911, taxi or a driving service and a reliable buddy or family member. While we should definitely enjoy ourselves at holiday celebrations, let’s not forget to keep our bases covered for any situation whether it’s a medical emergency or calling a taxi to drive us home safely. And with the speed dial feature on most smartphones, it’s even easier.
