Fall Accessories: Inside JORD Wood Watches

Speaking of which, we recently had the chance to try out the Dark Sandalwood & Emerald watch from JORD‘s Frankie series.  Known for their hand-crafted wood timepieces, these JORD luxury watches are the perfect Fall accessory. So let’s explore this amazing watch.

There is a wide selection of watches on the JORD website featuring men and women watches–all with their classic handcrafted wooden bands. There is also a range of sizes, styles and colors to choose from. Although floored by the aesthetics of all these amazing watches, we just fell in love with their Frankie series collection, specifically their Dark Sandalwood & Emerald watch.

This streamlined, minimalist watch is absolutely stunning, featuring a rich emerald face and set on a dark hued sandalwood band. Powered by a Swiss movement and gold toned hands to denote hours, minutes and seconds.

Now if you love packaging in general, you’re going to love the JORD watches. Each watch comes in a signature logo wooden box with a metal enclosure to secure the watch inside. There is also a secret drawer on the bottom that you can carefully pull out.

Inside the drawer, you’ll find a cloth to clean the watch and a few extra links in case you need to make any adjustments.

One of the reasons why the Dark Sandalwood & Emerald watch from JORD makes such a great Fall piece is how adaptable the watch is. It can be the centerpiece to any outfit or paired with other accessories can easily blend with your unique style.
There is no denying the beautiful craftsmanship starting from the sandalwood band. Each link is sleek and smooth down for the appearance of a straight line strap and pretreated with Tung oils to preserve the finish.

One of the features we love most about this watch is the snap at the back. Unlike several watches we own, the JORD watch is incredibly easy to snap the watch on the wrist and secure it nicely. There is no accidental skin tugging or chances of snapping the band apart to get the watch off.

Like we’ve already mentioned already, the Dark sandalwood & Emerald watch is a great addition to any Fall inspired outfit, whether it’s pairing it with a long beige coat, zebra blouse and slacks or keeping it elegant with a white cocktail dress, gold sandal heels and a simple gold collar necklace. We got so many compliments on this timepiece during our mini vacation around San Francisco and Silicon Valley.

One thing to note is that the watch is not waterproof given the 100% natural wood band, but it is splash proof. So this luxury watch definitely requires a little extra care than other watches on the market. This may be an issue for some, but we didn’t mind the extra care. In fact a little bit of water fell on the watch during our San Francisco trip, but we made sure to wipe it off and everything was good to go. We just don’t recommend submerging it in a pool, but can easily be worn in the rain, during hand washing or the occasional contact with water.  Also, we would love to have seen the dials light up in the night as they’re hard to read when it gets dark. But despite that missing feature, we just love how timeless this piece looks.
