Good Old Popcorn
Replacing our favorite potato chips for popcorn is a great way to eat healthy without feeling like we’ve just given up our guilty pleasure. According to a study conducted by Chemistry Professor Joe Vinson from the University of Scranton, popcorn contains more concentrated antioxidants called polyphenols than fruits and vegetables. Polyphenols have been found to aid in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and cancer. The study also reported that one serving of popcorn could provide 13 percent of an average intake of polyphenols a day per person in the U.S.
We know popcorn can be healthy, but it also depends on how nutritious we keep it. Ideally, plain popcorn is best way get all the nutritional value. But, we know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, especially when we find ourselves tempted by the buttery galore of Theater popcorn, all drenched in butter and salt. So to help us avoid caving in to temptation, let’s try to spice up these healthy kernels. We suggest playing around with a few spices like cinnamon and paprika, or even curry powder. There’s also fresh herbs like rosemary or basil we can sprinkle on top. Who said healthy popcorn had to look and taste boring?

I’d definitely try the Strawberry & Banana Smoothie with a Kale Twist! I’ve heard wonders of kale, especially that it’s rich in vitamin A, good for eye sight 🙂
